Dr. Fiona Chen strives to create a safe and welcoming environment, aiming to put every anxious patient at ease.
Dr. Fiona believes strongly in the impact of a person’s smile on their emotional well-being, self-confidence, and overall health – this drives her to provide the most pleasant experience for her patients as they strive to meet their dental goals.
Born and raised in Sydney, Fiona moved to Brisbane to graduate with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Class 1 Honours from the University of Queensland. It was during her studies that she first worked in the Fraser Coast public sector and fell in love with the lifestyle and community before returning to join the team at Mary River Dental in 2022.
Fiona enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in preventative dentistry and patient education, as well as restorative treatments such as fillings, crowns, and root canal therapy. She understands the significance of one’s smile on their self-confidence and overall health and well-being. Thus, with her gentle nature and eye for detail, Fiona provides the most pleasant experience for her patients to reach their dental goals.
Growing up, Fiona was lucky enough to enjoy her dental visits, but understands that many people did not have the same experience and may even have dental anxiety. Hence, her goal is to make every patient feel as comfortable as she did when under her care.
Outside of the dental surgery, you may find Fiona on a run, hiking, or trying out local restaurants. Fiona also enjoys watching F1 and Netflix documentaries to unwind after a busy day.
